Seriously one of the best shows I have ever seen!!!!!
Jesus Man!!! I feel like it's been forever since a somewhat tolerable issue of Decibel has come out. I actually decided to not renew my subscription because the shit that was in being published was so fuckin' terrible.
Let me explain...

Just Saw this and it must be in the top 5

WHAT? TROOP AND TROUBLE, ROSEWATER THIEVES, COSMOPOLIS, & MOODY MAMMOTH
WHERE? ALPHABET LOUNGE, 104 AVE 'C' @ 7TH STREET
WHEN? FEBRUARY 24, 2010
WHY? BENEFIT HAITI AND GOOD TIMES
I would highly recommend that anyone who is reading this site attend this show. I have yet to hear the bands, however, I truly believe they will not only put on a good show, but that they will rock your socks off and benefit Haiti ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!! So if you are around and feel like spending $10 for 2 drinks (which is cheaper than 2 drinks would normally cost), some music, and relief efforts for Haiti, I will see you there.
The bands that are playing are as follows:
Troop and Trouble: http://myspace.com/troopandtrouble
Moody Mammoth: http://myspace.com/moodymammoththeband
Cosmopolis: http://myspace.com/cosmopolismusic
Rosewater Thieves: http://myspace.com/rosewaterthieves
Cheers!

Top 10 must have Live albums ( or at least what I think is essential)

Well, this is a nice little tour isn't it? Just yesterday I was looking for dates for Mastodon and/or Baroness and found nothing. Then today, courtesy of MetalSucks, I see this tour is announced... pretty fuckin sweet.
I've never seen Baroness live but i have heard great things from multiple sources. I am definitely a fan of Baroness, however, I feel like they are getting a shitload of credit and I'm not too sure they deserve all of it. I mean, yea they are good, they're real good, but not album of the year (Blue Record, 2009) as some people have stated (and by some I mean Decibel magazine). BTBM is very very highly regarded in the metal music 'scene', which also makes me scratch my head a little bit. And i've never heard Valient Thorr but I assure you that will change in the next 30 minutes or so.
And Mastodon. Oh Mastodon. The last time I saw you, you sucked big fat sausage. I mean, it was terrible. The time before that was probably one of the top 10 shows I've ever been to. So I have no idea what to expect. There is a chance it will be good because when they play in relatively small venues they tend to kick serious ass, but in larger venues the sound is horrible. I'm going to go to the show in Hartford, CT and the venue they're playing has been pretty consistent over the years, so lets just hope the 'Don's sound guy don't fuck it up.

Yes, you did read that correctly. Killswitch Engage kicked ass at the first show of their 2010 headlining run across the U.S., Februrary, 4 2010, at the House of Blues, Boston, MA. It has been a while since i've gone to a Killswitch show because, to be honest, I've had some serious issues with them the past few years. These issues include them coming off as complete assholes, their music being a bit too queer, the fact that they rarely, if at all, play songs from their first record, and that they come off as complete assholes, did I already say that?
